Explore CSD Programs
You can take your first step toward becoming an audiologist or SLP by applying to an undergraduate CSD program
Use EdFind to search institutions that offer CSD programs
Don’t worry—if you earn a bachelor’s degree in a different discipline, you can still study CSD in graduate school! There are several ways to enter audiology and speech-language pathology programs. Check out the Graduate Roadmap for details.
CSD Program Search Tips
- Check out the EdFind program page’s Areas of Research and Specialty Tracks/Unique Features.
- Research program curriculum, clinical education opportunities, and faculty.
- Search for bilingual emphasis or multicultural emphasis to find programs that specifically explore the influence of cultural diversity in CSD.
- Consider other program attributes that may matter to you, like
- geographic location,
- Hispanic Serving Institutions,
- Historically Black Colleges/Universities,
- online degrees, and
- study-abroad opportunities.
- Search college and university websites for school- or program-specific financial aid—like grants, scholarships, and work–study.
- Visit campuses, if possible, to talk with faculty and students.
Graduate Programs: Find the Right Fit
- Establish your personal criteria for a graduate-level program. What matters most to you? You may want to ask yourself the following questions:
- What kinds of internships—and in which settings—are offered by the program or are available near the school? For example: Is a research hospital affiliated with the university? Does the college have community outreach programs?
- Will you have the chance to learn about topics and populations that interest you?
- Does the program offer paid assistantships?
- What type of degree are you interested in—master’s? PhD? Clinical doctorate?
- Do you want to complete an end-of-degree project such as a thesis or a capstone project?
